  • ZZ Top are teaming up with rockers 3 Doors Down and country singer Gretchen Wilson to form the “Gang of Outlaws” tour. The trio of southern favorites will kick off the package tour in the Northeast this spring with a pair of shows in New England.The tour will kick off at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on Friday, May 25. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $39.50 to $69.50, will go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster.Two days later, it will swing through Connecticut for a performance at the MGM Grand Theatre at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $70 to $90, are now on sale through the venue’s box office and website.“We’re really looking forward to working with the guys from 3 Doors Down and Gretchen too, if we may borrow from the late, great Robert Johnson, clear those stones from the pass way on this phenomenal tour,” said ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons in a press release. “The Gang of Outlaws is ready to ride!”The Texas-based classic rockers, comprised of Gibbons (guitar and vocals), Dusty Hill (bass and vocals) and Frank Beard (drums), have been going strong since 1969. It is expected they’ll preview new material from their forthcoming release over the course of the tour, along with plenty of greatest hits and fan favorites.     Rock legends ZZ Top will perform at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday, June 8th, along with 3 Doors Down and Gretchen Wilson.

    Having the same members for over 40 years, ZZ Top has sold over 25 million albums in the U.S. alone. ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. They reached the peak of their commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s, scoring many hit songs, but continue to tour and release albums. They are well known also for their trademark chest length beards, and sunglasses (a reference to their 1979 hit “Cheap Sunglasses”).

    3 Doors Down rose to national fame with their first single, “Kryptonite”, which charted in the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band then signed onto Republic Records and released their debut album, The Better Life, in 2000 which has been certified 6x platinum in the United States. Their second album, Away from the Sun, (2002) debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart and went multi-platinum in the United States. The band released Seventeen Days in 2005, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum within its first month of release. Their fourth, self-titled album, 3 Doors Down, also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

    Gretchen Wilson is a Grammy award winning country artist, who rose to fame with the hit song “Redneck Woman” in 2004. Since that time, Wilson has charted 13 singles on the Billboard Country charts. She has sold over 6 million records worldwide.

    Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 30th at 10am at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box offices.
