Gather your denim, diamonds and boots as we give cancer “the boot” at the 21st Anniversary Cowford Ball – Denim & Diamonds! With a little bit of rock and a little bit of country, we hope to raise $500,000 on October 1st so that we can get well, stay well and save lives! What is the Cowford Ball?The Cowford Ball is the largest single fundraising event for the American Cancer Society in North Florida with a goal of raising $500,000 in 2016. Each year, the western-themed event features gourmet fare, live and silent auctions, midway games, entertainment, dancing and a few surprises! This year proceeds will go to fund local community-based patient service programs, life-saving cancer research and education in prevention and early detection. This year the focus is on Hope Lodge – as we are in the midst of our Hope Lodge campaign for Jacksonville! Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city, like Jacksonville. Leading up to the main event on October 1st, the committee hosts several events to help educate people about the ACS and the Cowford Ball, including the Pioneer’s Cowford Kickoff.
